China Art Museum was founded in 2008, is opened by the OCAT “design branch”, but also the first domestic art museum to design as the theme. The venue is located in the OCT-LOFT Overseas Chinese Town Creative Park. It is rebuilt from the old industrial buildings in the same complex as He Xiangning Art Museum and OCT Contemporary Art Center (i.e. OCAT). With a floor area of more than 3000 square meters and a showroom area of more than 2000 square meters, the museum displays avant-garde design exhibitions in hexagonal steel warehouses, providing a platform for exchange of design art, education and research. There is also a Wah Art Salon offering coffee, pastries, art publications and art merchandise.
The space also has a corresponding hexagonal structure design, flexible exhibition settings.
